Aircraft Twirls Wildly into Palm Trees at Well-Known California Shoreline
An aircraft flying near a popular southern California coastline unexpectedly started spinning uncontrollably, ultimately dropping height and smashing into a cluster of palm groves as beachgoers observed.
Videos shared online depict the chopper starting to spin over Huntington Beach then falling in the direction of the edge of the coast, where it gets stuck between palm groves and a steps near the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Information
Emergency responders said five people were taken to hospital involving two individuals who were in the helicopter and were “rescued from the debris” after the accident on that day.
Three persons on the pavement were injured. Specifics on their condition were still under review.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
