Britain's shortest-serving prime minister, began the first edition of her online program with a pledge to reveal "the evil-doers" working to undermine Western democracies. She explained she would reveal how an "global web of liberal activists function to undermine the democratic process and the will of the people."

"Our focus will be on the political movement of Donald Trump and observe how this can be accomplished in Britain," Truss declared. "We will interview the leading lights of the Make America Great Again campaign."

Prior to the show's launch, there was a notably ardent backer. "This is the beginning of a type of revolution," remarked the controversial US journalist. His conservative Just the News will host the ex-PM's new broadcasts.

Establishing Ties in the Maga-Verse

Compatriot supporters, such as a counselor supportive of Reform, played a role in her set up the Liz Truss Show. The setup is professional, though simple. Truss has amassed ten thousand followers in her initial seven days and her premiere had tens of thousands of views across the same period.

This represents a humble beginning, but in partnering with John Solomon, Truss is being entering a mature political media sphere creating and spreading Make America Great Again themes. Key fixations include accusations of information control by the established press and a desire to remove a so-called administrative state – a force that the ex-PM holds responsible for the rapid conclusion of her disastrous time in office.

"Just the News is not widely recognized beyond the pro-Trump media sphere, but it does have gravitas there, mostly due to its founder, who provides analysis on pro-Trump shows like Steve Bannon's War Room and has even interviewed Donald Trump," said Alex Hinton, who has closely studied the Make America Great Again phenomenon.

A Controversial Partner

Her effort to transplant American conservative media to Britain has aligned her more closely to controversial figures such as John Solomon.

He set up his media outlet after criticism after he was accused of pushing inaccurate reports about Biden's anti-corruption work in the Eastern European nation, as well as contentious articles about ex-ambassador to the region.

These allegations were echoed across the pro-Trump outlets, with the journalist appearing as a regular guest on Sean Hannity's influential Fox News show. Trump himself promoted Solomon's reporting.

Solomon made the allegations regarding Ukraine in a set of articles for the political newspaper the political newspaper, where he was moved to a columnist role when staffers raised concerns regarding his reporting. His claims were key in the then-president's request for the Ukrainian government to investigate the Biden family in that year. This pressure culminated in impeachment proceedings against Trump. The Senate later acquitted the then-president.

Not long after the journalist departed the Hill in autumn 2019, the publication announced it was performing a review of his columns concerning Ukrainian matters. It determined the journalist had relied on untrustworthy contacts and said he "did not disclose key facts about primary contacts in Ukraine, specifically the detail that they had been indicted or were the subject of inquiries."

Entering the Ecosystem

His broadcast spots are a sign of the conservative ecosystem Truss is entering. He discussed his endorsement of her new show on a broadcast he helps run on the right-wing channel, a political media platform that is home to the pro-Trump commentator Steve Bannon and on which Tucker Carlson also is seen. The ex-PM has already spoken with Steve Bannon on a debut installment.

By partnering with Solomon and Just the News, she has become a small part in a much wider network of pro-Trump platforms that often amplify each other's content.

Solomon's own broadcasts have often featured personalities such as influencer Mike Benz, a rightwing influencer whose arguments against the foreign aid agency was cited by Elon Musk as justification for dismantling the international development organization.

An International Strategy

While the former PM's unnatural presentation and political travails have invited ridicule in Britain, certain American analysts are taking seriously her attempts to revamp her image as a British branch of the Make America Great Again press.

"One must regard individuals such as her seriously, despite the fact that you may not want to interpret them word-for-word," commented a Democratic strategist, who served in the Obama White House.

"Observers witnessed how in 2024 Donald Trump leveraged that ecosystem to get his message out. Certainly that network transmits and affects debate abroad. It seems fairly obvious to me that the circumstances in the Britain are akin to what allowed this alternative media ecosystem to flourish in America."

Alan Finlayson, said the internet-based conservative network was already making its presence felt in Britain.

"The internet knows no borders," he stated. "There's a kind milieu within which content circulates – on occasion taking an extreme form and occasionally in softer tones – but which is connected."

The academic said the rise of the internet-based right wing in the UK recently meant the "possibility to have a larger effect is significant."
