Battlefield 6 Players Concur: Challenges Are Overly Demanding
The debut of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 was met with broad praise, particularly for its flagship multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, concurrent player counts surged to nearly 750,000. However, in spite of its success, many players are protesting against some of the game's most difficult challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.
Gamers have begun turning to tailored sessions made via the Portal feature to finish these tasks, underscoring just how demanding these assignments have become.
Comprehending BF6 Assignments
Missions serve as Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, different from the regularly refreshed day-to-day and weekly tasks. The game includes four categories of assignments, but although many merely grant cosmetics and some tools, completing the weapon assignments is the sole method of acquiring a dozen out of forty-one key firearms found within the game.
Some of these gated guns may soon find their way on rosters of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.
Community Frustration across Reddit
Within Reddit, players are reasonably expressing their worries about how hard and tedious some of these challenges are. An individual player highlighted one of the most outrageous examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
- Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs
"This task is so terrible and completely out of mind, I want to scream in frustration," is a quote that summarizes just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.
The suppression feature in the game is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it has significantly fewer positive effects in fights as it had in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.
At the same time, hipfiring an LMG is wildly inaccurate and is effective only at very short distances, which is seldom the location you aim to be. The commenter also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that task would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and the other way around.
Another Overly Demanding Mission
A different forum member highlighted another ridiculously tough challenge, now in the sniper rifle category to access the PSR:
- Achieve 150 headshot eliminations beyond 200 meters with long-range weapons
This is tough enough by itself, but there's another important point to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at that kind of range.
There is a decent selection of map sizes, but because there are just nine battlegrounds in the game currently, it restricts you to playing New Sobek City, a particular valley environment, and possibly a classic map if you're lucky if you plan to engage from afar from over 200m away.
The Bypass
There is a workaround though: the custom game tool. This portal feature is a tool that allows you to design tailored experiences on whatever map you choose, featuring computer-controlled players. This means you can cheese the system… but it isn't truly in line with the developer's vision.
But when tackling the tasks in a standard match seems counterproductive, since you must engage in such an unorthodox manner that harms both you and your squad, who can fault a player for completing them in a private match so squad members are not disadvantaged?
Upcoming Tweaks
It should not be shocking if some of these assignments are toned down in the near future, because unless they are modified, some players simply will never acquire the restricted guns.
Currently, the audience continues to express their views on these challenging multiplayer missions, expecting a fairer overall gameplay in coming revisions.
