Four Detentions Carried Out Following Donald Trump and Epstein Pictures Projected on Royal Castle
Several individuals were arrested after visuals featuring former President Donald Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein appeared onto Windsor Castle on Tuesday, as the US president's arrival in the United Kingdom.
Law Enforcement Response and Arrests
Thames Valley Police confirmed that the suspects were taken into custody on suspicion of "malicious communications" following what they referred to as a "public stunt." The detainees comprised an individual in his sixties from Sussex, two London residents aged 36 and 50, and a Kent man aged 37.
The force added that law enforcement responded swiftly to halt the display on the royal residence, where the president is scheduled to greet King Charles during his official trip.
Context of the Event
The former president was associated with Epstein during the late 20th and early 21st centuries. So far, Trump has not been formally accused with any illegal activity in connection with the deceased financier.
The visit comes just a week after the UK's ambassador to the US was removed over his association with Epstein.
Early on Wednesday, a van could be seen in the town displaying an picture of the two figures along with the text: "Welcome to the UK, Donald."
Security Presence and Protest Arrangements
An extensive police operation has been deployed throughout the area, with over a thousand personnel assigned to monitor events in the capital amid expected demonstrations by activist groups.
At the same time, the president and First Lady Melania are set to attend a meal with representatives of the Royal Family, pay respects the resting place of Queen Elizabeth II, and deliver a address at a state banquet.
Protesters assembled in the town prior to the visit, emphasizing the divisive nature of the state visit.
