Adebayo top-scored with 24 points and afterwards stated Terry had the team's full backing.

"We support him. Full support," Bam stated. "You support him through and through. That's our brother ultimately."

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra commented: "Terry is somebody who is important to all of us. He's had a beneficial influence on our team.

"We send our thoughts and our care for him as he faces this."

The Trail Blazers also won their first game after the arrests, with Brazil-born Splitter taking over as temporary head coach in Chauncey's non-attendance and guiding the squad to a convincing 139 to 119 win over the Warriors.

"Everyone experienced positive times with Billups and his coaching style," Tiago said. "Our thoughts are with him and his family but our focus is on the game."

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver 'Disturbed' by Recent Events

Addressing the arrests for the initial occasion, league head Silver stated he was "very upset" by the events of the recent days.

"There's nothing more important to the league and its fans than the integrity of the game," he told a broadcaster. "Therefore I had a pit in my stomach. It was very upsetting."

Silver further said an NBA investigation into the player's conduct in March 2023, when there was "aberrational betting" in a game he participated for the Hornets versus the Pelicans, found nothing untoward.

"It was brought to our attention by the authorities and the gambling firms," he added.

"We investigated the matter and were very transparent about it. Although there was that aberrational betting, we, honestly, couldn't find anything.

"Federal authorities has subpoena power... [it] can threaten to put people in jail, can take various actions that the NBA can't do.

"Therefore, we've been working with them since then. Naturally, what they revealed yesterday was an indictment.

"And two and a half years after, he still hasn't been convicted of anything, in justice to Rozier.

"Obviously, it appears unfavorable, but he's been suspended, and so it is a balance in this case between protecting people's rights and conducting an inquiry."
